With great excitement and anticipation, I’m happy to welcome subadei as the newest contributor to Dreaming 5GW!

Many regular visitors of D5GW will already be quite familiar with subadei who, through his slant-wise eponymous blog Soob, has often addressed the state of the world and the state of warfare — recently, the state of 5GW:

To wit, 5GW isn’t necessarily a conglomerative effort but an individual effort. Further, 5GW entails an unprecedented province. Contrary to conventional warfare which evolves around the very closed source context of gathering and acting upon secret intelligence, 5GW entails mastering the overt, obvious, sometimes spectacular realm of information….

5GW transcends even the most dynamic 4GW event in that it can non-kinetically originate, manifest, mature, afflict and intellectually conscript the same culture from which it originates. Contrary to, say, the Fort Dix Six a 5GW event (from this perspective) infiltrates, coalesces and then effectively steers mass ideology in a certain direction.

[” ‘War is Theater’ and Why 5GW Might Be ‘Redefined’ “]

Whether critiquing William Lind, pondering “The Anti-Christ”, exploring the relationship of Black Swans to fifth-generation warfare, or setting his scopes on Russia’s internet brigades, or while exploring almost any other subject, subadei has displayed a facility for creative, horizontal thinking — while he continues to develop his own dream of 5GW.  He may even be a skeptic. (“I am something of a skeptic regarding the chronological evolution of [Lind’s] 4 generations of warfare.”)   I am happy to have him aboard!
