“His operations are separated from him by layers of misdirection and plausible deniability.”

What do you think? How do the purported activities (in that linked article) differ from normal American politics?

While Soros does attempt to change the rules of the game in countries where his organizations operate (Ukraine, Iran, etc), he does this by supporting one side politically. He strikes me as a 4G Peacer rather than a 5GWarrior.
I’m still a little unclear over where Soros’ actions would fit into the OODA loop. Isn’t that the only way to tell whether he’s doing 4GW or 5GW?
Given that he’s funding climate change alarmism in order to produce a change in the American belief system, and funding anti-Bush hysteria in order to destroy Bush’s reputation, and funding racist hispanic rallies in order to provoke nativist reactions that the people will blame on the Republican party, perhaps he is engaging in 5GW.
Or is that 4GW?
Wolf,
For me to label it 5GW, I would need a clearer idea of what he hopes to accomplish by his activities. Is he trying to build a new paradigm? Or merely shift the pendulum back to liberals and Democrats.
Additionally, whether his activities are aimed and making more money (somewhere down the road of winding “misdirection and plausible deniability”.)
Does he actually have an enemy he’s trying to destroy or co-opt? Or is his main purpose — his ultimate goal — merely a changed world? (Similar to Gates: who may see the world even more “wired” down the road, and have greater plans, but no definite “enemy.”) Although Soros may be fundamentally against Republicans and Conservatives, does he see them as enemies he’s targeting or merely as obstacles to the perfection of his imagined system?
These are the questions I’d ask.
I see the divide between 4GW and 5GW as being if he is trying to break the target’s will or trying to redirect that will.
In other words, is he trying to make his target give in (4GW)? Or is his intent to redefine the context of the issue in order to cause his target to act in a particular way (5GW)?
Given the information in the article I would say he is closer to 5GW than 4GW.
I have been collecting info on Soros and saving it for a future 5GW post. He has his hand all over the place. He uses several layers of cut-outs. He is at least a proto-5GW Puppet Master.
